"Hyperlocal" is an adjective used to describe something as being "limited to a very small geographical area" and, in particular, to anything "extremely or excessively local". It is applied in particular with regard to media output aimed at narrowly focused populations. It has otherwise been described as "information oriented around a well-defined community with its primary focus directed toward the concerns of the population in that community" - - Wikipedia
In recent hyperlocal news:
The snow plow tracker is a lie. I don't believe that Oakland Mills Road has been plowed in the last four hours (June 20th, 10am)
My favorite response:
I just drove by it. Can affirm that it's totally clear of snow. Great work HoCo!

Big, if true!
Hickory Ridge? Kings Contrivance? You tell me.

In the “Location is Everything” department:
I’m hearing that Pollo Compero, the third competitor in Columbia’s “Chicken Alley” is now open for business. I went to their website to double check and was amused by the heading, “Location Is Everything.”
It certainly is. In the case of three chickens in a row, we practically have a hen house. I’m definitely going to check them out, largely because I’m rooting for the underdog and I’m not particularly a fan of the other two.

Do you have any hyperlocal news to share? As a certain Columbia man-about-town likes to say, “stop by and tell me what’s going on in your neighborhood.”
