All those little things fell into place yesterday.
The sun was shining, the sky was clear. It wasn't too hot nor too humid. We pulled open the drapes and opened the house.
It was a beautiful day.
In the morning we tidied and cleaned, and sorted through things for recycling.
In the afternoon I went out and worked on the front flower bed.
We ate dinner at the Mall and bought my daughter's 8th grade "graduation" dress. (On sale.)
As we came out of the Mall into perfectly gorgeous weather, we heard music playing from Merriweather.
It was a quintessential Columbia day. A day worth celebrating. Spring is truly here, and all the joys of Spring and Summer are on their way.
Oh, earth, you're too wonderful for anybody to realize you. Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it -- every, every minute? -- Emily, Our Town, Thornton Wilder
As I closed my eyes to sleep I heard my husband complaining about how loud Merriweather was.
Yup. This is Columbia. Wouldn't have it any other way.
