Tomorrow: Take a Long Lunch

Tomorrow from 11 am to 4 pm you can support scholarships for arts education at HCC!

Support Althea's Almost Famous 3rd Annual Roy Peart Memorial Fundraiser while enjoying authentic Jamaican cuisine and other tasty food truck offerings! Proceeds from this fundraiser will support Howard Community College students pursuing theater, music or dance.

Ms. Hanson’s mission to honor her father was featured in the Fall, 2022 issue of Pathways, the Howard Community College magazine.

"My dad would never pass up an opportunity to sing or dance at the arts events that Howard Community College (HCC) used to put on. When he passed away, we thought about giving back to students in the arts. We knew that would have made him happy," said Althea Hanson, founder and CEO of Althea's Almost Famous, a food truck and catering business with Caribbean-inspired food.

When: Wednesday, April 3  11 a.m.- 4 p.m

Where: HCC Quad*

Who: Althea’s Almost Famous, AppleCore’s Bake Shoppe, DMV Tacqueria, Queen’s Temple Handmade

Can’t make it tomorrow? You can still contribute!  The Roy Peart Memorial Scholarship is funded through the Roy Peart Foundation 501 (c) (3) and you can make a donation here. It doesn’t mention this scholarship specifically, so I’m pretty sure you should do this:

If you haven’t ever tried the delicious menu offerings from Althea’s Almost Famous, tomorrow would be a great day to take the plunge!
