The Business Monthly covers the business, government and people of Howard and Anne Arundel counties, the BWI Business Corridor, and Laurel. We report on local companies, economic development, and the people building businesses in our region : monthly in print and more frequently online at bizmonthly.com.
They’ve been in business since 1993. Want to know more? Here’s a piece on their founding and history by Len Lazarick.
Yes, it’s an opinion piece. In many ways it reads like a news article. Ms. Markovitz lays out relevant information and walks readers through the facts of the project itself that much of the breathless and/or incendiary online commentary has curiously omitted.
I wonder why?
Frankly, this piece answers a lot of the questions that people kept coming to the Village Green/Town² Facebook page to ask.
Why didn’t they? - - They did.
Why aren’t they? - - They are.
Why doesn’t this make sense? - - It does, if you are willing to take the time to learn and process the information.
Why haven’t I heard about this before? - - The Source project has moved through every part of the required process with full transparency, met each requirement fully, and was required to receive approval at each step of the way. This has all happened in public.
Most people don’t have time to follow the minute details of every County project. The only reason it would have come into the public consciousness before now is if there had been something wrong. There hasn’t been then, and there isn’t now.
The “something wrong” that we have now is bad actors trying to influence the outcome of an election.
Markovitz sums up her piece with these words:
The Source should be judged on its merits, not used as a vehicle for unfounded election-year political attacks.
I agree.
